Minor Arcana: Pentacles
The material world and abundance
The Suit of Pentacles (also known as Coins or Disks) is associated with the element of Earth. It represents everything tangible, stable, and practical. It speaks to resources—money, the body, work, material achievements, and possessions. It’s also linked to security, self-worth, and the fruits of our efforts.
This suit tells the story of turning dreams into reality. From the Ace of Pentacles—the seed of opportunity—to the Ten of Pentacles—the fulfillment of a legacy—we journey through stages of effort, self-value, resources, enjoyment, and belonging. Along the way, we also encounter shadows: fear of scarcity, attachment, comparison, stagnation, and the illusion of safety we sometimes project onto material things.
Pentacles are not just “money cards.” They also invite us to reflect on the value we place on who we are and what we do, how we use our talents, and what we’re building in this world. Does what I harvest have meaning? Am I inhabiting my body with presence? Am I allowing myself to enjoy what I’ve already achieved?

In readings, Pentacles often speak to how we manage our energy in the physical realm, the value we place on our actions, and whether we’re building from a solid foundation—or not.
